Bally’s Gym: Is it for Everybody?
Bally’s Gym is always tempting to sign up for. Unfortunately, most people end up foregoing membership. There is no doubt that the amenities at Bally’s are far superior to most gyms, as well as the cleanliness of its facilities. But due to extensive competition provided by other gyms that offer cheaper membership, most people never end up becoming a Bally’s member at all.
If you happen to be a new member of Bally’s gym, however, one of the very first things you have to do is to visit its website not only for information but for online services at
http://www.ballyfitness.com/.
As a brand new Bally’s gym member, you can create your own personalized home page displaying the latest news and information for up to three of your favorite clubs. You also gain quick and easy access to the following sections:
My Membership - Allows you to conveniently manage your account by renewing your membership, making payments online, signing up for member email topics and much more.
My Club - A section with news and specials offers for up to three clubs. Learn about club events and special promotions specifically for your club. You can also browse through Personal Trainer biographies and even purchase Personal Training sessions online. Also, you’ll have access to group exercise schedules for every Bally Total Fitness club.
What you’ll want to jump on next is the group exercises offered at the Bally’s gym of your choice. Bally’s is confident that it offers the most contemporary and innovative services in this area. As the website says: “Each cutting edge class is designed to challenge your body, renew your motivation, and yield incredible results.”
“From aerobics and cardiovascular training to strength and resistance training to dance, Yoga, and Pilates, our classes are tailored to meet all fitness levels” claims the website. It would be great, however, if membership pricing for Bally’s gym were a little lower—then more people can take advantage of these high-end classes!
The following is a sampling of group exercises you’ll find at your local Bally’s gym (some exercises are further explained in a sentence if the nature of the exercise is not clear). Due to space limitations, we are unable to list all the exercises here—but you can always go to Bally’s website for the complete list.

FITNESS PLUS
Bally’s gym membership helps you take a step beyond class participation into a specialized series of lessons, seminars, master classes, or training camps. Each series is devoted to the development of a specific skill or the achievement of a measurable short-term goal.
Another great feature of membership at Bally’s gym is the personal trainers who can guide you every step of the way towards meeting your long-term fitness goals.
A Bally’s gym personal trainer will design a dynamic exercise program based on your personal goals, unique metabolism and fitness level. He or she will combine high intensity workouts and basic nutrition education with the motivation you need to reach your goals.
Take note, Bally’s gym is the only national health club chain that utilizes the BodyGem® by HealtheTech, a handheld device for measuring your metabolism.
Dynamic Personal Workouts
With a Bally’s gym personal trainer, you will receive workouts tailor fit to your requirements. The website specifically mentions that “every session is structured to build cardiovascular endurance, improve strength and increase flexibility.”
We can only hope that the members have a choice if they are not focusing on any of these aspects. This is because sometimes, personal trainers dictate what the gym member wants rather than the other way around.
